That Ol' Gut Feeling
Ever had a gut feeling that something or someone wasn’t right? The source of that feeling comes from the enteric nervous system, a woven-like system of neurons located in the gastrointestinal system. While scientists and psychologists research and debate the reason for our gut feelings, the Bible already explained the reason God created this in us and explains in Psalms 139:13-14, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” God knew that appealing to our mind, where the greatest concentration of neurons are located, would not always get our attention; but grab our gut and He has our undivided attention. When you have that “gut feeling”, pray because God is trying to tell you something.
